Reflections on a Mountain Lake: a western nun talks on practical buddhism

Tenzin Palmo is best known by thousands of Australian as the subject of Vicki Mackenzie's best-selling book "Cave in the Snow". In 1963, at the age of 20, Diane Perry (later known as Tenzin Palmo) travelled from London to India to pursue her interest on Tibetan Buddhism. There she studied for several years before undertaking twelve years of intense Buddhist meditation, alone in a remote Himalayan cave. In "Reflections on a Mountain Lake" she draws her experience in meditation to explain how we can each develop a basic meditation practice and deal with painful and troublesome emotions like anger, fear and jealousy. She also explores the traditions of great female Buddhist practitioners and the core principles of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy.
